Live Sale Specimen Finish Options
We offer several finish options for specimens revealed during live cutting. Your selected finish determines how the specimen is presented and preserved after cutting.
The specimen is left exactly as it appears when it comes off the saw. After cutting, the piece is gently cleaned to remove residue from the cutting process. Some specimens may receive a light acid bath if needed to remove surface debris.
This option preserves the specimen in its most natural revealed state. Best for collectors who want the raw scientific presentation of the material.
The specimen is treated with a clear acrylic gloss coating that enhances color and pattern while protecting the surface. This creates the visual effect of a polished stone without grinding or shaping the specimen.
The coating cannot be chemically reversed. However, the specimen may be professionally polished in the future using lapidary techniques, and the coating can be removed during that process.
Best for display pieces and collectors who want maximum visual impact immediately after cutting.
This is our signature finish and the highest level of preparation we offer. The specimen is professionally polished to a true mirror finish using lapidary methods that reveal maximum detail, color, and structure.
We recommend this option for exceptional specimens, investment pieces, or any item with significant personal value.
Best for premium display, gifting, and long term collection quality presentation.
